This policy applies to homeowner enquiries, general contact messages, installer partnership applications and the website services described below.
1. Who operates Upgrade My Home
Upgrade My Home is currently operated as a founder-led proof-of-concept rather than through an incorporated company. The operator decides what personal information is collected through the website and how it is used for the enquiry, matching and installer-application services.
Upgrade My Home is operated personally by its founder during the proof-of-concept phase.
Public-facing name: Upgrade My Home.
The service is not currently operated through an incorporated company and does not have a registered office.
Privacy questions and data-rights requests can currently be submitted through the Contact page.
The operator decides how enquiries are reviewed and whether selected participating installers receive enquiry and contact information.
2. Information we collect
A home upgrade enquiry may include county, optional Eircode, applicant and property type, approximate electricity bill, battery interest, installation timeframe, name, email address, phone number and recorded consent choices.
The general contact form collects your name, email address, enquiry category, optional relevant page address, message and privacy acknowledgement. Please do not submit sensitive information or unnecessary documents.
An installer partnership application may include company name, website, contact name, work email, phone number, business location, counties served, services offered, current capacity, registrations or accreditations, a business summary, information about suitable enquiries and partnership interest, optional Google or review and LinkedIn links, optional notes and the recorded application consent.
The website and its hosting provider may also process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, browser information, timestamps and security or server logs. The exact data involved can depend on the final technical configuration.
3. Why and how we use information
We use homeowner enquiry information to receive and review an enquiry, clarify details, assess whether the service may be suitable, identify potentially suitable participating installers, make a small number of relevant introductions, administer the enquiry, respond to concerns, protect the site and comply with legal obligations. Installer application information is used to review the application, contact the applicant, check relevant business information, evaluate potential participation and maintain necessary partnership records.
Installer matching is reviewed manually during the MVP. We do not currently use solely automated decision-making to select installers or distribute enquiries.
We process personal information only where an appropriate legal basis applies. The applicable basis depends on the purpose and circumstances of the processing.
4. When enquiry information is shared
Upgrade My Home reviews each enquiry before sharing it with any participating installer.
Upgrade My Home reviews the information and may identify a small number of participating installers considered potentially relevant based on the enquiry and the services and coverage those businesses provide. Where relevant introductions are available, the enquiry and contact information reasonably needed to respond may be shared with those selected businesses. We do not distribute enquiries to a general list of contractors.
A selected installer should use the information to respond to the submitted enquiry and is responsible for its own handling of that information. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to professional advisers where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate duties.
5. Optional marketing consent
Marketing consent is separate from enquiry processing and relates only to Upgrade My Home marketing. It is optional and unticked by default. You can submit an enquiry without agreeing to marketing, and may withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe method provided or the privacy contact details above.
No advertising pixels or external marketing automation tools are currently installed. This section must be updated before any such tool is introduced.
6. Webflow and other service providers
The website is built and hosted using Webflow. Native Webflow forms currently receive and store form submissions. Webflow processes website and submission data on the site operator’s instructions.
Webflow and its subprocessors may process information outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where restricted international transfers occur, appropriate transfer arrangements and safeguards should apply.
Other necessary professional, hosting, security, communications or technical providers should receive only the information reasonably required for their service.
Service-provider, hosting, form-notification, spam-prevention and international-transfer arrangements are reviewed when providers or configurations change.
7. Data retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including handling enquiries, maintaining appropriate records, resolving issues and meeting legal obligations.
Retention depends on the type of record and why it is needed, including whether an enquiry or application remains active, whether an introduction was made, the need to record consent or respond to a concern, and applicable legal requirements.
Reasonable organisational and technical measures should be used to protect information. No online service can promise absolute security.
8. Your data protection rights
Subject to applicable conditions and limits, you may have rights to be informed, access data, correct it, request erasure or restriction, receive certain data in a portable format, object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Use the Contact page to exercise a right or raise a privacy question. Identity information may be requested where reasonably needed to verify the request. Learn more from the Data Protection Commission.
9. Children
The matching service is intended for adults making decisions about a property. It is not designed to collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy will be reviewed when the service, forms, providers, tracking technologies or commercial model change. The last updated date appears above.
